
EMBL´s European Bioinformatics Institute
EMBL-EBI is EMBL's European Bioinformatics Institute, one of the six sites of EMBL. EMBL is an intergovernmental organisation, headquartered in Heidelberg. It was founded in 1974 with the mission of promoting molecular biology research in Europe, training scientists, and developing new technologies. EMBL is supported by 27 member states, and connects thousands of scientists and engineers that work together to conduct world leading research and scientific services, with EMBL-EBI being a powerhouse of biological databased and analysis expertise.
EMBL-EBI experts participating in the MICROBE project:
- Rob Finn is leader of the EMBL-EBI's Microbiome Informatics team, which is responsible for the MGnify resource, which provides access to the metagenomics, metatranscriptomics and assembly analysis services.
- Jeena Rajan is a FAIR Data Coordinator within the BioStudies Team and develops, runs related databases and archives.
- Germana Baldi is a Bioinformatician at the Team of MIcrobiome Informatics.
- Dipayan Gupta is a developer in the BioSamples team at EMBL-EBI. His responsibilities are programming new features for BioSamples database and taking care of system integrations.
